Optional Technology Usage Fee 2026-2027

The Technology Usage Fee Program helps protect families from unexpected repair costs due to accidental damage during the school year.
For students, the program works as follows:

First accidental breakage: A $25 annual usage fee covers the cost of the first accidental repair.
Second accidental breakage: After the first claim is resolved, families may purchase a second usage fee for $50, which covers a second accidental repair during the same academic year.
Additional breakage: After the second covered incident, families are responsible for all repair or replacement costs.

If a student has not enrolled in the Usage Fee Program before an accidental breakage occurs, the family is responsible for the full repair or replacement cost of the Chromebook.

Please note: The Usage Fee Program covers accidental damage only. It does not cover damage resulting from vandalism, abuse, or misuse.

Limited-Time Back-to-School Bundle

To help families start the school year with a clean slate, we are offering a special bundle through the first week of school.

For $50, you will:

Have all existing Chromebook fines cleared for your child.
Be enrolled in the Chromebook Usage Fee Program for the current school year.

Fine Statements were sent out via email on Friday, August 7th. If you are unsure whether your child has outstanding Chromebook fines, please contact the Technology Department at (409) 382-1374.

If you choose not to purchase the bundle, any existing Chromebook fines will remain on your child's account.
